Introducing Bridge City Spex
Delivering world-class optical care to our valued patients
The Bridge City Spex Heritage collection was launched in October 2016. Bill MacGillivray, Master Optician and Director of Optical Operations at EyeHealth Northwest, collaborated with our optical team to design the frame styles. Our goal was to thoughtfully integrate lenses and frames to create elegant, finished eyewear. Drawing on decades of optical expertise, customer feedback, and research into Portland eyewear trends, the Bridge City Spex Collection was created. Each frame in the Heritage collection is named after doctors at EyeHealth Northwest. The styles feature time-tested shapes in face-flattering, richly colored acetates.

The Perfect Lenses to Suit Your Needs
Since 2007, EyeHealth Northwest has been making lenses in our, state-of-the-art laboratory in Milwaukie, Oregon. By providing a diverse selection of lenses—such as progressive, single-vision, blue light, and specialty options—we can customize our eyewear to meet each patient’s unique prescription, lifestyle, and visual needs. This ensures optimal visual clarity and comfort.
Progressive
Whether driving, working, or reading, our digital free-form progressive glasses provide near, intermediate, and distance correction in one lens, so you don’t have to switch between multiple pairs. Compared to other multifocal lenses, our progressive lenses transition seamlessly across each viewing zone (with no visible lines) and provide sharper vision overall. Benefits of our progressives:
Single Vision
Single-vision lenses are designed with a uniform lens power, correcting vision at one specific distance—either near or far. These lenses are ideal for individuals who need correction for one field of vision, such as those who are nearsighted (myopia) or farsighted (hyperopia).
Anti-Reflective Treatments
Anti-reflective treatments are applied to lenses to reduce reflections and glare. This enhancement improves vision clarity, especially in low-light conditions, and helps reduce eye strain and fatigue from prolonged screen use or bright lights. Anti-glare coatings also make lenses appear nearly invisible, which enhances the wearer’s appearance by allowing their eyes to be more visible through the lenses. These coatings are particularly beneficial for individuals who spend significant time in front of computers, drive at night, or work in brightly lit environments.
Transitions
Transitions lenses, also known as photochromic lenses, automatically adjust their tint based on the surrounding light conditions. They are clear indoors and darken when exposed to sunlight, providing a convenient solution for people who need both prescription glasses and sunglasses. These lenses offer protection from UV rays, reduce glare, and enhance visual comfort in varying light environments. Transition lenses are available in various materials and designs, including single-vision, bifocal, and progressive lenses, making them suitable for a wide range of visual needs.
