Dr. Joseph Simonett specializes in the medical and surgical care of patients with retinal disease. Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Simonett completed his undergraduate studies in genetics at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University School of Medicine. Dr. Simonett then completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Oregon Health & Science University and a 2-year Vitreoretinal Surgery fellowship at the Moran Eye Center of the University of Utah.
Dr. Simonett has published multiple book chapters and peer-reviewed research articles on topics including retinal vascular disease, retinal surgery, and diseases that mimic macular degeneration. He takes pride in offering cutting-edge treatments and ensuring patients understand their complicated retinal problems. Dr. Simonett is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the Oregon Academy of Ophthalmology.
When out of the office, Dr. Simonett enjoys fishing and mountaineering.
