Dr. June Tse was born and raised in Southern California. When she was a little girl, she had routine eye exams with her childhood optometrist. Fascinated with all the cool gadgets the optometrist used, she decided to become an optometrist herself. Dr. Tse wanted to help people regain their vision just like her optometrist did for her. She attended University of California, San Diego and received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Development. During her time there, she volunteered at the hospital and worked as an ophthalmic technician. She understands that in order to best serve her patients, it is important for a clinic to have a cohesive staff.
After completing her B.A. degree, she then attended Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B Ketchum University for her Doctorate of Optometry and Master of Science in Vision Science. She completed her thesis on dry eye syndrome and presented several research posters at the American Academy of Optometry meetings. Dr. Tse believes in personalized patient care and tailors each exam to her patient’s visual needs. She developed a passion for treating ocular diseases and fitting contact lenses. She understands the importance of staying up to date on the latest research and products available in the ocular world. Upon graduating from optometry school, Dr. Tse practiced in California for a few years at a private practice and a non-profit organization where she provided free eye exams and glasses to underserved children. During her travels, she fell in love with the great Pacific Northwest and decided to move to Oregon in 2016.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, ballroom dancing, and traveling. She participated in vision screenings within the community and with the Special Olympics. In 2017, Dr. Tse took part in a mission trip to Ghana and provided eye care to children with physical and mental disabilities. She believes that everyone in this world should have access to eye care. Dr. Tse looks forward to meeting you and learning more about your visual needs.
