Dr. Matthew Lee was born and raised in Chicago. His passion for eye care stemmed from his own experiences with his optometrist growing up. He saw the difference specialty contact lenses could make in someone’s life and wanted to provide that same quality of care to others. After receiving his B.A in Nutritional Biochemistry at Case Western Reserve University, he went on to complete his Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Lee was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honors society and graduated with distinction.
Following graduation, Dr. Lee pursued a residency in cornea and contact lenses at the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry. His passion for specialty contact lenses only grew as he served a large population of patients with corneal disease and injuries. He also participated heavily in surgical co-management, facilitating the care of patients after refractive and cataract surgeries. During residency, Dr. Lee served an active role as an educator, training optometry students in both didactic and clinical settings. He is currently a member of the Contact Lens and Cornea Section of the American Academy of Optometry and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Lee enjoys practicing comprehensive optometry, specializing in fitting medical contact lenses. In his free time, Dr. Lee loves spending time with friends, photography, and exploring the Pacific Northwest. He is excited to work with an amazing team at EyeHealth Northwest to serve your unique eye care needs.
